The Minnesota Vikings could be without one of their best players on defense this week, as defensive tackle Linval Joseph was seen limping through the locker room on Thursday, and declined to talk to the media to explain his current level of pain.

Despite being a full participant in practice on Wednesday, Joseph was unable to practice on Thursday.

Nothing is official at this point, but when asked about Joseph's status for Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer responded by saying, "We'll have to see tomorrow."

That doesn't sound encouraging.

The two-time Pro Bowler is the anchor of this defense, as he possesses 31 combined tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble in nine games this season.

The Vikings are hopeful that cornerback Trae Waynes can suit up on Sunday, but the guy that makes this defense hard to deal with is Joseph on the inside. His loss could change the complexion of what happens against the Cowboys.
