The Flanagan Trio has fully departed from Michigan, as Devin Gil announced Tuesday on social media that he is entering the NCAA Transfer Portal and intends to find a new school for his final year of eligibility.

After Devin Bush Jr. went on to the NFL and Josh Metellus graduated, Devin Gil will depart from the team as the last remaining member of the trio Jim Harbaugh and Co. recruited to Ann Arbor from Charles W. Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, Florida as part of the class of 2016.

"I would like to thank the University of Michigan for providing me with the opportunity to earn my college degree while pursuing my love of football," Gil's post reads. "I would also like to thank coach (Jim) Harbaugh and coach (Don) Brown for the knowledge that I have gained and for the experiences that I was fortunate to have participated in here at the University of Michigan."

Gil took on a heavy load as a linebacker in his junior season, but was reassigned to playing mostly with special teams in 2019. Since he has earned his degree, he'll be eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer wherever he ends up.

His best season came in 2018, when he played more games than both of his other two seasons combined. He picked up 19 solo tackles out of 33 total, with Michigan finishing 10-3 that year.

Gil played in 40 total games for the Wolverines and started 14 times. His career at UM saw him total 47 tackles, four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and one fumble recovery.
