It's been speculated quite a bit this offseason Lincoln Riley may leave Oklahoma down the road for an NFL position. Even after Riley said he wasn't going to leave Oklahoma and signed a contract extension, people still think his future is in the pros.

However, a monster buyout may just put the kibosh on any rumors once and for all.

If Riley were to leave Oklahoma for the NFL, the head coach would have to pay Oklahoma a $4.6 million buyout. The buyout would drop by $1 million each year until March 16, 2022, when OU would waive the buyout.

Riley's current contract gives him a $1 million bonus each year if he remains the coach of OU until April 1, 2021.

In his two seasons at Oklahoma, Riley has been one of the best coaches in all of college football. He has won two Big 12 championships and has produced two Heisman Trophy winners during his tenure. He has a 24-4 record while at OU.

The 35-year-old coach is set to make $6 million this year in total compensation, which is the highest in the school's history. With Jalen Hurts now with the Sooners, the team is expected to make another push for the College Football Playoff.

Everything is going great in Norman for Riley. Why would he ever leave?
