LeBron Magically Grew an Inch Because He's the King and He Can Do Anything

We'll come around to the widely popular notion that LeBron James is on a gradual decline until he displays anything that resembles a drop-off.

The groin injury from last season that limited James to 55 games, the lowest tally of his career, was viewed by most cynics as the start of his proverbial passing of the torch, but he promptly countered those assertions by magically growing an inch in the offseason.

With the 2019-2020 NBA season kicking off on Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers have released their official roster, which included the respective heights of their players. Folks, LeBron is listed at 6-foot-9, after standing at 6-foot-8 for the totality of his career so far.

And thus, any rumors that claimed LBJ was no longer the King were swiftly squandered. The four-time MVP still reins supreme, and he can simply do whatever he wants. How many players in league history can say that they've grown an inch at 34-years-old?

Our guess is not many.

One thing is for certain, however, and it's that James is as excited as ever for basketball to return as his Lakers square off against Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers on Tuesday night.

And why shouldn't he be? Not only is he paired with fellow superstar Anthony Davis, but he now has a more distinct height advantage over the other mere mortals in the league.
