The Los Angeles Lakers are fresh off tearing apart the New Orleans Pelicans, as Alvin Gentry's young crew of former Lakers Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Hart got bulldozed by LeBron James and former Pelican Anthony Davis.

Instantly after Davis' otherworldly performance -- 46 points and 13 boards, folks! -- James hit back at the possibly one or two human beings left in the world still criticizing the wealth of assets LA gave up to secure Davis. On his Instagram Story, LeBron mocked the notion that the Lakers gave up too much.

Davis was a terrific 15-21 from the floor in the Lake Show's dominant win over New Orleans, and is currently averaging 27.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game in his first season in town.

All hope is not lost for the Pels, of course, as Ingram is starting to grown into a legit scoring star night in and night out. Even so, the Lakers were going nowhere with all those young players fighting for notoriety, and the Davis trade has vaunted them to the top of the West. Anyone would have made that trade. Anyone.

With that in mind, LeBron's IG indignation lands awkwardly. But if he posted that message out of pure excitement for what's to come, you can probably forgive him.

Ingram might be flourishing in New Orleans, but you would be hard pressed to find one Lakers fan that wouldn't have pulled the trigger on that trade for AD.
