Latest Quote From Landon Collins May Break Giants Fans' Hearts

Losing safety Landon Collins this offseason was big blow to the New York Giants secondary. Not only was he a beast on the field, but he was widely considered as the leader of the defense.

By everyone other than Dave Gettleman, it seems.

He held a special place in Giants fans' hearts, and seeing him sign with their hated rival Washington Redskins wasn't an easy pill to swallow. And to make matters worse, Collins is making himself at home with his new team.

Watching a fan favorite sign with a division rival was already bad enough, but now that it appears he's completely cut ties with Big Blue, Giants fans are rightfully heartbroken.

The Giants have had a rough offseason by any metric. They've lost multiple staples of the offense and defense, with wideout Odell Beckham Jr. being the most notable departure. But unlike Collins, the Giants won't have to see OBJ twice a year, out for some of that blue blood.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet Collins will be extra intense in his first game against his former team. Not only did the Giants front office low-ball him in contract negotiations, but their arrogant GM Dave Gettleman just didn't seem to care about his departure at all.

We can't wait for football to get underway, and the first Giants-Redskins matchup will surely be one of most anticipated games of the NFL season, as long as it falls in the weeks before the Giants are completely dead and out of it.
