Lamar Jackson Should 100 Percent Sit and Not Risk Injury for Ravens' Thursday Night Game vs Jets

The Baltimore Ravens sit atop the AFC playoff picture with an 11-2 record and are scheduled to square off against the New York Jets on Thursday night in Week 15. However, they may be without their best player, and that might be for the best.

Lamar Jackson has officially been listed as questionable despite unofficially stating that he will play in Baltimore's upcoming matchup.

The Ravens would be wise to make Jackson inactive against the 5-8 Jets. He's the heart and soul of their team, and allowing him to play on a short week while not being 100% healthy would be risking further injury and a chance to make a Super Bowl run.

After defeating the New England Patriots in Week 9, Baltimore holds the tie-breaker over the current No. 2 seed in the AFC. Although their last two games vs. the Browns and Steelers are not gimmes, they can afford to drop one before the NFL regular season concludes.

On top of that, they might even be able to top the Jets without Jackson under center.

The Ravens offense has looked unstoppable for much of the year with Jackson at quarterback. However, their run-heavy approach would allow for backup Robert Griffin III to slide into the starting role without being asked to make a ton of challenging throws.

This seems like a no-brainer to us, but the choice will ultimately come down to John Harbaugh, who is far more qualified than any of us to make this decision.
