Lakers Taking Right Approach With Anthony Davis Injury
By Brendan Balsamo

After Anthony Davis hit the ground hard and writhed in pain at Staples Center on Tuesday night, Lakers Nation collectively held their breath. Thankfully, Wednesday provided some clarity on the severity of Davis' injury.
Despite the tame diagnosis, the Lakers are going to be cautious with their superstar.

The MRI revealed a bruise on his lower back, and while it's nothing to be concerned about for the long haul, LA doesn't want to take any chances. If Davis happens to aggravate the injury, it could become a nagging issue that hinders his ability to perform at a high level every night.
For a guy who was viewed as a liability over the last few years because of his injury history, this is certainly the correct route for the Lakers.

According to Lakers' coach Frank Vogel, the team will be taking "the long-term marathon approach" with Davis' recovery.

After a 30-7 start to the season, there's no need for Davis to rush back, as the Lakers have a comfortable four-game lead in the Western Conference standings.
