Lakers Reportedly Expected to Pursue Kawhi Leonard in Free Agency

While the perception has been that the battle for Kawhi Leonard's signature in free agency is a two horse race between the Los Angeles Clippers and Toronto Raptors, the Los Angeles Lakers aren't done big game hunting.

Despite having LeBron James and Anthony Davis in tow, the Lakers are throwing their hat in the Kawhi ring.

This would be a very on-brand move for the Lakers, but would still be seen as a puzzling move for Leonard.

This is LeBron's team, and there is no getting around that. Would Leonard really accept the role of Robin to LeBron's Batman a year after winning a title and Finals MVP in the same season? Would he even be Robin, given Davis' expanding role?

Even when the Clippers are humming along like they are, the Lakers are still the Lakers, and that gravitas might be enough to steal the hometown kid away from the Clip Show.

Or he could stay with Toronto and render this while thing a moot point. June 30 can't come fast enough.
