Life as a member of the Brooklyn Nets hasn't gotten off to the best start for Kyrie Irving, as an elbow in the face and a stint in the hospital doesn't exactly make for the best first month at the office.

Irving was diagnosed with a left side facial fracture after taking an elbow to his face during team workouts on Tuesday. Fortunately, Irving is considered day to day going forward, so he won't miss any significant time.

After a disappointing and highly controversial season in Boston, Irving left the C's and joined up with Kevin Durant on the Brooklyn Nets.

While most Nets fans have been wringing their hands in nervousness after yet another injury to Kyrie, the more optimistic Nets fans see this as an opportunity to unleashed the superhero that is "Masked Kyrie." We can't wait to see what Uncle Drew looks like while rocking the protective face mask.

For all of Irving's strengths as a player, he can be a bit on the brittle side. He's dealt with various injuries throughout his career, and while this one is entirely unrelated to his past history, it wouldn't be surprising if the Nets exercised utmost caution with their marquee offseason acquisition.
