Kurt Warner Destroys Chris Simms and Critics Who Call Tom Brady a 'System QB' in Twitter Rant

These two things can be true at once: Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time, and he has also benefitted significantly from playing under head coach Bill Belichick.

It's not all too far-fetched to guess that Brady would not have had the same level of untouchable success if not for being paired with some unbelievable coaching staffs, but calling him a "system quarterback" is both an oversimplification and downright disrespectful.

That's exactly why Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner took to Twitter this week to quiet analysts who make the claim that Brady is just a system quarterback, directly responding to Chris Simms' bizarre rankings.

Few are more qualified to judge quarterbacks than Warner, who had a fantastic NFL career. And after his initial missives, he continued to shut down fans who clapped back.

Warner makes a great point. Sure, any QB may be helped or hurt by the "system" their coaches install, but the way a player performs in the biggest moments truly defines their greatness. Brady may play poorly for three quarters, but you'll almost never see him crumble in crunch time; that's why he's won six Super Bowl rings.

Plus, as Warner points out, Brady's played in more than one "system" with more than one offensive coordinator.

Look, we get it. Tom Brady is an easily detestable character for those who aren't winning alongside him.

But come on, stop calling the guy a system quarterback. You don't become the greatest ever by accident.
