The New York Knicks continue to disappoint their fans in every imaginable way possible. As perhaps the most dysfunctional NBA franchise of the past 10 years, they've failed to make the playoffs since the 2012-13 season.

And now, according to reports, the team opted against trading for superstar Anthony Davis because he "didn't fit their long-term plan."

Alright there, Steve Mills and Scott Perry. Yes, you've been all in on a rebuild since you took the team over from Phil Jackson, who perhaps ruined his basketball legacy during his stint as the Knicks' president, but passing up on Anthony Davis? Come on.

It's one thing if Davis was more inclined to join the Los Angeles Lakers, either via a trade or free agency, but its another when he openly admits to having equal interest in the Knicks.

Think about that: Davis was as interested in playing for the dismal Knicks as he was in partnering up with LeBron James in Los Angeles.

In short, the Knicks blew it, again.

Neither Kyrie Irving nor Kevin Durant were willing to sign with the Knicks because of their futility. Durant even went as far as to state that MSG's lost its allure, which is just about the biggest shot you can take at the team. MSG is all the Knicks have left at this point.

Alas, Knicks fans can take comfort in knowing that Julius Randle is there to save the day.
