Kirk Herbstreit Praises Jake Fromm and Warns Teams Not to Pass On Him

Jake Fromm has always been a bit of a polarizing player since he debuted in 2017 with the Georgia Bulldogs. He finished his college career with 78 touchdowns and only 18 interceptions in three seasons.
Fromm was knocked at times for his arm strength and for never leading Georgia to a national title. Yet he stands 6-2 and is still projected to be taken somewhere in the middle rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft. ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit believes teams are going to regret passing on Fromm.

"Anybody who has heard me talk about Jake Fromm over the past couple years knows I'm a huge fan of his,” Herbstreit said Monday on an NFL Draft conference call. He went on to compare Fromm to Gardner Minshew, who was not a top prospect but was still able to successfully run an NFL offense as a rookie.

• Jake Fromm: 35
• Joe Burrow: 34
• Jordan Love: 27
• Justin Herbert: 25
• Anthony Gordon: 25
• Jacob Eason: 23
• James Morgan: 23
• Jalen Hurts: 18
• Tua Tagovailoa: 13
Minshew was a sixth-round pick himself, but Fromm is expected to go earlier than that. Still, the comparison fits as Herbstreit believes the former Georgia Bulldog will be ready to lead a team if called upon.
