Kirby Smart Drops Inspiring Quote About Always Striving for More

Recently, Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart visited his alma mater, Bainbridge High School, to speak to their football team.

Smart's talk with Georgia's former Class 5A state champions mainly focused on personal development and honoring those that helped him achieve the position he currently holds. And one particular nugget of wisdom stood out.

You're never done chasing excellence. And if you need any outside motivation to help you do it, Smart doesn't want to hear it. It's got to come from within.

Smart also touched on his love for the state of Georgia, which has been his home for the majority of his life. Later in the talk, he addressed his passion for the University of Georgia and that he has no desire to leave the school anytime soon. Smart responded to a question of whether or not he planned to leave Georgia simply with "Why would I leave home?"

The respected head coach of the Bulldogs has made tremendous strides for the program down in Athens. Through his first three seasons, Smart has racked up a cummulative record of 32-10, and made a visit to the College Football Playoff National Championship game two seasons ago, falling just barely short of UGA's first title since 1980.

If Smart's speech to his alma mater tells anything about his future plans with the Dawgs, it suggests that he has not settled and plans to maintain the program's status as one of the best in the country. With that crushing loss in the championship game two years ago against Alabama, it's clear that Smart is ready for more and is always making strides to make himself, his team, and his state better.
