Just three days after being named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's 2020 Class, Kevin Garnett is again grabbing headlines.

This time, he took aim at his former team, the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In a discussion with Athletic reporter Shams Charania, Garnett announced that he would be turning down the Timberwolves if they offered to retire his jersey. He states that he made this decision due to a falling out with Timberwolves majority owner Glen Taylor.

I'll always have a special place for the city of Minneapolis and the state of Minnesota in my heart." said Garnett. "But I don't do business with snakes. I don't do business with snake mu'f--kas."

Garnett went on to explain that he, Taylor, and then coach Flip Saunders had a deal in place for Garnett to join the team's front office after his retirement, but "when Flip died, that understanding went with Flip...For that, I won't forgive Glen. I won't forgive him for that."

There's a lot of bad blood between KG and the Wolves here, and it's not a matter that can be solved with PR statements. This goes far beyond Minnesota's decision to trade Garnett to Boston in July of 2007.

This statement comes as a shock to Timberwolves fans, as Garnett recently accepted the offer to have his jersey retired by the Celtics. Garnett played six seasons in Boston, and 14 in Minnesota, but until he works things out with team ownership, he'll remain just a former Wolves star, rather than an icon with his jersey retired at Target Center.
