By Ian Anderson

Just one day after the Tennessee Titans' disappointing loss in the AFC Championship to the Kansas City Chiefs, they've lost one of their coaches to college football.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have announced the return of legendary defensive backs coach Kerry Coombs, except this time he's going to serve as the defensive coordinator for the Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes will officially announce the return of the famed defensive backs coach as a coordinator this afternoon following two seasons with the Tennessee Titans. https://t.co/wwFSFvHhg9
With co-defensive coordinators Jeff Hafley and Greg Schiano leaving OSU to go and pursue head coaching jobs, a vacancy was left in the Ohio State coaching staff.
Coombs is a perfect fit for the co-defensive coordinator role, as he spent six seasons as the Buckeyes' defensive backs coach, last coaching for them back in 2017.
Coombs helped shape a solid Tennessee Titans defense that ended just one game shy of a Super Bowl berth, and has high hopes going into next season.

After two years in the NFL, the excitable, flag-planting, first-round-draftee-preparing assistant coach is back with the Bucks as the new co-defensive coordinator per @AWardsports. https://t.co/H712yfNsD2
While this is great news for TOSU, Tennessee will also be losing leadership on the defensive end in the form of departing coordinator Dean Pees.

Buckeyes fans have been awaiting this announcement for a month, eagerly anticipating the end of the Tennessee Titans' season.
One thing that Coombs is known for is developing NFL talent, as the coach had five corners selected in the first round of the NFL draft from 2014-2018. Safe to say that that record is pretty good.
