Kentucky Trustee and Champion Thoroughbred Owner Names New Colt After Jared Lorenzen
By Parker White

Former Kentucky Wildcat star quarterback Jared Lorenzen passed away earlier this month far, far too soon. Since his passing, fans of the inimatable QB around the state of Kentucky and beyond are looking to keep his name alive every way they can.
Now, a Belmont Stakes-winning racehorse owner and a member of the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees, Tracy Farmer, has decided to name a new two-year-old colt after Jared to honor his memory. The horse will go by the name "Lorenzen."

Lorenzen the horse cost $205,000 at his sale, and it will be trained by Mark Casse, who worked with Farmer's 2019 Belmont-winning horse, Sir Winston.
It may be a small gesture from a huge Kentucky Wildcats sports fan, but it's an endearing, sincere way to keep Lorenzen's memory alive.
