VIDEO: Kentucky's Lynn Bowden Punches Virginia Tech Player in On-Field Fight Before Belk Bowl

This is NOT what you want your down-the-docket bowl game to be known for. Unfortunately, we get the world we deserve. Before kickoff of the Belk Bowl Tuesday in Charlotte, tensions that started earlier in the week came to a head. After Kentucky star Lynn Bowden was the target of various profane insults from Virginia Tech fans and players Monday, a pregame scrum broke out this afternoon, with at least one punch being thrown.
Kentucky QB/WR Lynn Bowden had issues with Virginia Tech pregame, and even punched a Tech player.

This is a horrible look for Bowden, but in the broader context of the situation, nobody looks good here. Nobody.
Fortunately, the do-it-all playmaker has a good chance to have the last laugh by letting his play do the talking -- he scored the opening touchdown of the game on a 25-yard run in the first quarter.

Bowl season is supposed to be a fun coda to the year's college football slate. The fact that the Belk Bowl has been tarnished by multiple instances of bad blood and outright violence is a massive shame.
