After earning a top 10 ranking and a double-digit winning season, Mark Stoops and Kentucky are making the shift from SEC doormat to SEC East contender. With that enhanced status comes the arrival of blue chippers, once a pipe dream in Lexington.

Kentucky pulled in their highest-ranked recruit ever with the commitment of 4-star offensive lineman Justin Rogers.

The 6-2, 311 pound guard from Oak Park High School in Oak Park, Michigan picked the Wildcats over legendary programs like Ohio State, Tennessee, and Georgia. Even Alabama and LSU were considered contenders for Rogers.

At 311 pounds, Rogers moves well in the open field and has a good anchor in pass protection. He will need to lose some bad weight in his midsection and get nastier as a run blocker, but he's a tremendous talent the likes of which Kentucky hasn't seen in some time.

With Stoops proving he can win in the SEC with 2-stars and walk-ons, imagine what he'll be able to do once the 4-stars start frequently rolling in.
