Kendrick Perkins has made the transition from NBA player to media personality, but some of his comments during Tuesday's Boston Celtics-Houston Rockets broadcast weren't exactly what you'd expect from someone calling a game. During the game, Perkins decided to veer away from the actual matchup in order to blast former Celtic Kyrie Irving. Perkins went off on Irving, expressing his disgust with the star player for not wanting to play for Boston.

Irving wasn't a great fit with the Celtics and decided to join the Brooklyn Nets in free agency. It's fair to criticize the move, but Perkins is acting more like a fan instead of a media personality by ranting about how he "wants to throw up" when thinking of the 27-year-old. You kidding, dude? This isn't commentating. It's being a child.

There's a difference between being somewhat of a homer and openly going after a player for shock value. There needs to be some sense of objectivity from media members and Perkins lacks that simple, necessary attribute as we've seen all year.
