The ongoing dispute within the New York Jets organization of late has been the feud between the franchise and offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele. The latter claims to have a torn labrum, which would require season-ending surgery, but the team is hesitant to let him go under the knife.

And it seems that the Jets actually did something pretty shady to avoid losing their veteran OL, as Osemele claims that GM Joe Douglas admitted the team inadvertently sent blank MRI's of his shoulder to doctors.

No wonder Osemele has required countless second opinions just to prove that he is in fact dealing with a torn labrum.

And to make matters worse, the disgruntled veteran also admitted that he hasn't even spoken to head coach Adam Gase in "weeks."

It looks like Gase is keeping as far away from this predicament as possible, but his lack of communication with a key member of the offense is incredibly concerning.

Osemele took a stand last week, getting fined for skipping practice, and after not featuring in Sunday's blowout loss to the Patriots, the 30-year-old dug his heels in. Osemele's agents, Andrew Kessler and David Mulugheta, revealed his plan to undergo surgery on Friday, whether or not the Jets permit him to.

If the reports of a blank MRI are true, the Jets would look absolutely foolish to allow this dispute to extend any further. Just save face and let Osemele get surgery. After all, this season already looks like a lost cause.
