Big bad Justin Verlander couldn't handle the complexities of being in the same room with a reporter he apparently didn't like. News surfaced late on Wednesday that he directed the Houston Astros to ban Detroit Free Press reporter Anthony Fenech from the postgame media session or else he wouldn't have made himself available.

Is this the behavior of a professional who's won a Cy Young and MVP award? We've yet to hear anything about Fenech causing any verbal harm to Verlander, so this just seems to be yet another situation where the Astros ace is being insufferable for reasons unknown.

This behavior is far from new. Here are five other times Verlander decided to act out of line for seemingly no reason.

5. Getting Into an Argument With Victor Martinez as Tigers Brawled With Yankees

Two years ago when he was still on the Tigers, Verlander made a tense situation even worse. The Tigers and Yankees brawled on the field in Detroit and then cameras caught JV exchanging words with teammate Victor Martinez in the dugout after the scrum. Martinez then tried to charge at him but was held back to prevent a civil war.

4. Calling Out Media After Kate Upton Blasted MLB, Rick Porcello for Cy Young

Look, we're not going to sit here and tell you that Rick Porcello unequivocally deserved the Cy Young award over Verlander in 2016, but for crying out loud, Justin's got one of those, plus an MVP and a Rookie of the Year award. He's an eight-time All-Star and future Hall of Famer. Did he really need to get into it with Mark Feinsand after Kate Upton had NSFW commentary on the whole thing? I'm pretty sure someone is allowed to tell your girlfriend to "pipe down" if she's hurling obscenities in your general direction. Just another situation a player atop his game didn't need to be involved in.

3. Going off on the MLB for Juiced Balls

Here we are, yet another thing we're not entirely going to disagree with, but this is a guy that LEADS his league in ERA, WHIP, strikeouts, home runs per nine innings, starts and innings pitched. HE'S complaining about this in an immature way by going nuclear on the MLB over it? Max Scherzer said it perfectly: "I'm not going to cry about juiced baseballs." Verlander already epitomized how to get around that -- pitch like a Cy Young winner. He doesn't need to sound off like a petulant child in the media.

2. "All Lives Matter" Take

Shocker! Verlander wasn't happy with the National Anthem protests, so he decided to ignorantly combat the Black Lives Matter movement with the ever-so-insightful All Lives Matter rebuttal. He later apologized for it, but the problem here was that he was so quick to offer a take that he wasn't entirely informed on. That's not exemplary of a 33-year-old MLB veteran.

1. Wild Hypocrisy on PED Users

You gotta pick one, man. Back in 2013 when Tigers shortstop Jhonny Peralta was banned for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug, Verlander decided to be a supportive teammate and talk about how nobody's perfect and sometimes people make mistakes. Very true, can't fault him there. But when another MLB player gets suspended that's not on his team? NOT HAPPENING! Verlander, in wake of Robinson Cano's PED suspension last year, tweeted "Aaand excuse coming in 3..... 2.... 1...." Hardly an aligned stance on the matter.
