Julian Edelman Has Every Right to Be Upset With Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski

As of Thursday, Julian Edelman remains on the New England Patriots' roster following this week's blockbuster trade that sent the recently unretired Rob Gronkowski to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Of course, that means the Pro Bowl tight end will reunite with former quarterback Tom Brady.

That left the NFL landscape wondering: how is Edelman coping with being effectively hung out to dry? Well, the 31-year-old wide receiver is evidently upset -- and he as EVERY right to be.

On Thursday night, Edelman unfollowed Tom Brady on Instagram for approximately 30 minutes before re-following his former longtime teammate.

It might not seem significant, but this confirms that Edelman feels as though he was blindsided and even abandoned by his supposedly closest companions. Sure, the Bucs could very well trade for dynamic slot receiver themselves, but these social media antics prove that Edelman, for the most part, didn't see any of this coming.

From Brady's departure to the Gronk trade, the 11-year veteran was kept out of the loop. Considering that everything that the players have been through -- three world championships, five Super Bowl appearances, and 11 AFC East titles, etc. -- Edelman's feelings are justified.

In fact, we wouldn't at all fault him if he were to ride it out on New England or even deny a potential trade to Tampa Bay.

Brady clearly went out of his way to convince Gronkowski to come out of retirement to compete for a ring. The fact that he didn't make a similar effort to strong-arm a trade for Edelman says more than you might think.

Edelman was as close to stabbed in the back as an NFL player can get.
