Josh Jones Reports to Packers Minicamp But Likely Won't Participate
By Max Scoli

Packers safety Josh Jones has been attempting to force his way out of Green Bay by making a statement with his absence from OTAs.
Well, he's doing more of the same at the team's minicamp. He's in attendance but not participating.
Josh Jones is here for the mandatory minicamp after skipping out on OTAs as a way to try to force his release or a trade. Doesn't appear the former second-round pick is planning to practice, though. The Packers have told him... https://t.co/Yq22d7re1m pic.twitter.com/Ptar9rA0iw

If you're wondering why Jones would be present and not participate, it could be to avoid a hefty fine. NFL teams can fine players for missing mandatory minicamp, and the total increases with each day missed. Skipping the first day would have cost Jones $14,775, with the second day increasing to $29,550 and $43,225 for the third. That's a total of $88,650 worth of penalties.

Jones is unhappy with his current role in the organization, citing playing time as the main issue. He played 13 games last season, but he only started five, recording 55 tackles, a sack and 2 passes defended. Now behind the likes of Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage, Jones hopes the pastures are greener elsewhere.
The NC State product has been with the Packers since the organization took him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, but it appears his time in Green Bay will soon come to an end.
