It's been regurgitated countless times since the NFL Draft, but it's so maddening and relevant that it's worth stating again: the Green Bay Packers need reinforcements at the wide receiver position. As we know, the franchise strangely passed on drafting a pass catcher in a loaded class. Well, with Green Bay still having failed to add a wideout, radio host Pat McAfee badgered former Packers great Jordy Nelson with questions about the possibility of coming out of retirement to sign with the team. The former Pro Bowler threw cold water on the rumor with a savage joke about NBC analyst Chris Simms and how wrong his scoops have been of late.

That was ruthless from Nelson, but his stunt did speak volumes about his plans, or lack thereof, to spurn retirement and return to Green Bay.

In nine seasons with the organization, Nelson posted 550 receptions for 7,848 yards -- good for a whopping 14.3 yards per catch -- and 69 touchdowns. Those numbers all rank in the top five in Packers history.

We wouldn't call the dreams of Green Bay diehards dead just yet, but at this rate it's looking highly unlikely that the 34-year-old will return to the NFL.
