The Las Vegas Raiders have been connected to Tom Brady in offseason rumors. That would obviously be bad news for Derek Carr, who signed a five-year extension in 2017. Yet Jon Gruden offered up a vote of confidence for Carr in a video shared by The Athletic's Vic Tafur.

"I really think Derek's a heck of a player," Gruden said. He goes on to share the respect he has for the quarterback and adds in how he won't talk about all the offseason rumors out there. He ends by saying he is anxious to continue building around Carr.

However, the Brady rumors continue to swirl and it is hard to imagine a situation where the Raiders would choose Carr if the GOAT wanted to join the team.

Gruden is remaining a supportive coach and talking up his current quarterback. This is what a head coach should do. His tone will surely change if Brady joins the organization. That is all part of the business of the NFL.
