The name of Johnny Majors elicits memories of greatness for Tennessee Volunteers fans. The former player and head football coach led the team to three SEC titles and owned a record of 116-62-8 at the school from 1977-1992.

Sadly, Majors has passed away this week at the age of 85.

The Tennessee legend spent much of his coaching career with the Volunteers. However, he also led Pittsburgh to a national championship in 1976 and remains in high regard there. Majors was still able to lead Tennessee to two Sugar Bowl victories and a Cotton Bowl win during his tenure.

The 1956 All-American returned to his alma mater and helped make the program great again before passing the torch to Phillip Fulmer and seeing the success continue. Volunteers fans may be wondering when the next Majors is walking through the door.

We send our sincerest condolences to the Majors family as we all take a second to look back at the College Football Hall of Famer's accomplishments and legacy.
