The Philadelphia 76ers easily took down the Atlanta Hawks on Monday by the score of 129-112, but it didn't come without a bit of controversy, provided courtesy of Joel Embiid.

When the game was all but over, Embiid dribbling up court and ended up having the ball stolen away by Hawks sharpshooter Kevin Huerter. That led to Embiid flipping him off in full view of fans and those watching on TV. He then proceeded to drop an F-bomb during his postgame on-court interview.

Well, we're sure Embiid was expecting to be fined, and the 76ers center was hit with one on Wednesday. He'll be forced to cough up $25,000 as a result of his actions.

Embiid really has nothing to complain about here. He had no reason to be upset with Huerter swiping the ball from him and playing through to the final whistle. Just because the game was out of reach doesn't mean Huerter should simply roll over and let the Sixers cruise. Rather than accept the fact that he was caught being careless, Embiid opted to go the childish route and flip the bird at the Hawks' winger.

The 76ers have clawed back into the No. 5 seed in the East and are looking to further propel up the standings. Embiid seems to be playing with ignited passion of late, and that was on full display in the fleeting moments of Tuesday's game, though it came at a hefty cost.
