San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo began carving out his own path to stardom after being traded away from the New England Patriots.

There were always rumors about drama with Garoppolo in New England, but it appears his former mentor is nothing but friendly ahead of his former backup's first Super Bowl in San Francisco.

Garoppolo revealed that Brady sent him a text wishing him good luck ahead of his first Super Bowl as a starter.

There is no reason for Brady to have any angst toward his former backup and a good luck text was a nice gesture. Something as simple as a text can go a long way in providing motivation to a younger player.

Brady himself is ultra competitive and could square off against Garoppolo in a Super Bowl before his career comes to and end. For now, he wants to support a young man who he spent years with on a daily basis. That is a commendable move by the NFL legend.
