Former Cardinal Jim Edmonds Denies Cheating on Reality Star Wife With Nanny

Former St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Jim Edmonds had himself a fine big league career, but he's made different kinds of headlines post-career ever since he married "Real Housewives of Orange County" star Meghan King.

Well, after five years of marriage, the two are headed toward a divorce, and if the most salacious of allegations are to be believed, it's because he cheated on Meghan... with the family's nanny.

A rumor currently circulating is that Edmonds slept with the family's 22-year-old nanny, but he has since gone on social media and strongly denied that suggestion.

"It’s one thing to be accused of something. It’s another thing to be so negligent and so careless, and ruin the lives of innocent young people," Jim said on Instagram. "I did not sleep with our nanny."

"She’s not just a nanny, she is someone that we brought into our house and promised to protect and look after while she was in our home. We have been treating and raising this young girl like she is our own child! For someone to accuse me of sleeping with her is not only wrong, it’s disgusting and irresponsible," he continued.

We don't know the ultimate truth of the matter just yet, but the optics are certainly not great for the former All-Star and Gold Glover. The hope is that this split, if it is to occur, can be completed with at least some minor shred of amicability.
