The New York Jets front office is quickly becoming one of the more discussed topics around the league. After firing GM Mike Maccagnan, and promoting head coach Adam Gase to interim GM, reports are now surfacing that the Jets are looking to add a bright football mind to their front office.

They seem to have a person in mind, as reports say that the team is interested in trying to lure Peyton Manning aboard as a "strategic thinker" in an untraditional GM role.

This is certainly wishful thinking on part of the Jets, and per the report, it's unclear if Manning has even been approached for the role, or if he would have interest in it.

On Wednesday, CEO and chairman Christopher Johnson said, "It’s more than a talent-evaluation guy. I want a great manager, a communicator, who can collaborate well with the building. I’m convinced we’re going to find that person."

If Johnson, Gase and the rest of the Jets' front office can pull off the heist of adding Manning to the organization, then they can put all of the offseason drama behind them and look to get off to a strong start of the next chapter in franchise lore.
