The New York Jets famously busted the New England Patriots for their scandalous recording practices back in 2007, ultimately leading to the "Spygate" debacle that consumed a nation (and ingested New England's 31st overall pick in the process).

Oh, how the tables have turned.

While overseas during Donald Trump's state visit to England, Jets owner Woody Johnson was busted for his own suspect recordings, when he was caught filming Queen Elizabeth during her speech.

Johnson, who has been the U.S. Ambassador to the U.K. for two years now, made a clear breach of protocol in recording the Queen. It wasn't exactly discreet, either.

It's especially disgraceful considering it was during a tribute to the veterans of D-Day. In a moment of reverence from the most prominent member of the British Royal Family, he inexplicably chose to pull out his phone.

What objective would this have accomplished anyway? Whatever recording he may have gotten probably was sub-par at best.

The entire situation feels ironic considering how irate the Jets were that the Patriots were filming them without consent. Now the script has been flipped in an extremely embarrassing fashion.

This reflects poorly not only on the Jets, but on the United States.
