JD Martinez Has Bold Comment in Denying Any Red Sox Wrongdoing During 2018 World Series Run

What makes Houston and Boston's sign-stealing scandals all the more deplorable and difficult to swallow? The smug reactions from many the players connected to the controversy, of course.

Star Red Sox slugger JD Martinez was no different in his latest comments surrounding the MLB's impending investigation into the organization. The three-time All-Star daringly claimed that he's prepared for the probe because he is convinced that the Red Sox are innocent.

Somebody please save this tweet for posterity. Martinez is just asking to get berated once the league's investigation concludes, and we will be on the front lines of that onslaught if and when he's proven wrong.

The Athletic's scathing report alleged that Boston used their video replay room to illegally steal signs in 2018, the season in which they ultimately hoisted the Commissioner's Trophy, led to an MLB investigation that is currently ongoing. It's already claimed the job of skipper Alex Cora, however -- a strange fate indeed for someone who, in the eyes of Martinez, did nothing wrong.

It's the same news outlet that originally dropped the bomb on Houston's sign-stealing ventures back in November. Odds are is that their intel is dependable and that the Red Sox will be penalized in some way, shape, or form beyond simply feeling compelled to part with Cora.

Care to walk-back those comments before it's too late, JD?

That might be a good idea.
