Jay Z Needs to Shut up About Colin Kaepernick
By Jerry Trotta
Ever since the date was set, we pondered that Colin Kaepernick's "scheduled' workout with the NFL was nothing more than a smokescreen.
The number of last-minute changes that materialized in the hours leading up to the workout was staggering, but, when all was said and done, the former San Francisco 49ers signal caller looked good slinging the pigskin around.
It's no secret that Jay-Z has endorsed Kaepernick ever since his blackballing began, but the decorated hip hop artist is simply starting to have too much of a say in things. That narrative continued when TMZ reported that Young Hov was reportedly disappointed in how Kaep handled the media after the workout.
Of course, the Nevada product had a few choice words for Roger Goodell and the NFL's owners once his workout concluded, calling out their evident cowardice while urging them to "stop running from the truth."
Apparently for Jay-Z, however, Kapernick isn't allowed to defend himself after the first "genuine" workout the league has held for him in over three years.
No offense, but the 21-time Grammy Award winner seriously needs to stop injecting himself into this predicament.
It's almost as if Jay-Z is taking the side of Stephen A. Smith, who unquestionably delivered the most outlandish take in the wake of Kaepernick's workout, claiming that the 32-year-old QB doesn't even want to return to the NFL.
Kaepernick has been ostracized from the league for protesting police brutality (!), an issue that is still awfully prevalent, by the way. He's earned the right to speak his mind.
