Jay Gruden Provides Encouraging Update on Derrius Guice's Latest Injury
By Jerry Trotta

The story surrounding Derrius Guice last season was one of the more bothersome and underlying developments of the campaign: after being selected in the second round in 2018 by the Washington Redskins, the former LSU star suffered a torn ACL in training camp and was forced to miss all of his rookie season.
Well, the young running back had been making tremendous strides throughout the last 12 months, up until he suffered a hamstring injury during practice. It was a big blow for the 'Skins, who were expecting Guice to be their lead back in 2019.
Fortunately, Jon Gruden provided a positive injury update on Guice, revealing that the running back has been cleared and will not be limited at the team's training camp.

Adrian Peterson's unexpected, but brilliant campaign last year helped ease the minds of Redskins Nation as most figures within the organization expected Guice (before the injury) to have a dazzling rookie season.
“He tweaked his hammy a little bit in a workout after practice in one of the OTA sessions,” said the 52-year-old HC regarding Guice's recent ailment. “It was not that big a deal, though. It was just something, a couple weeks and he was going to be fine. He’s been running and training the last couple before training camp here so he’s in good shape.”

What remarkable news.
Let's hope that Guice avoids any potential setbacks in camp this time around and is still healthy once preseason rolls around. The nation's capital has been eager to get a glimpse of the running back in action, and should he remain healthy through training camp and the preseason, the fans will get their wish.
