Rookie Jaime Gillan, also known as "The Scottish Hammer," will be Cleveland's new punter. Gillan came out of nowhere to have a strong camp this summer and surprised many by stealing the job from Colquitt.
During the preseason, the Scottish born Gillan punted 17 times for 793 yards and a 41.4 net average. Six of his punts landed inside the 20.

Many people thought that Gillan was originally in camp just as an extra leg, but he quickly impressed. Coaches noticed his impressive hang time and leg strength.
Gillan only became a serious contender to take the reliable Colquitt's job because of his performance in the Browns' preseason game against Tampa Bay. Three of his six punts that day landed inside the 20 and he had a long of 54.
