Jadeveon Clowney Trade Destinations Based on Texans Talks Reportedly Revealed

Houston Texans star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney could very well be on the move, as has been reported for seemingly weeks now as the USC product and the franchise remain far apart on a long-term deal.

Why the Texans are hesitant to sign Clowney long-term remains a question worth asking, as he plays a premium position and is a productive player, albeit an oft-injured one at times.

With a move on the horizon, the Texans have reportedly shopped the 26-year-old--the Dolphins, Redskins, Eagles, Seahawks and Jets.

Clowney is coming off back-to-back seasons of 9 and 9.5 sacks, reasonable production but perhaps dwarfed by the fact he's playing on the same defensive line as JJ Watt. Houston believes they can still feature an elite unit without Clowney, and want to address their needs elsewhere (specifically the offensive line and a WR opposite DeAndre Hopkins).

A Trent Williams-Clowney swap would make sense for both teams, but it appears that's out of the question for now as the Redskins aren't inclined to trade their stud left tackle.

Moves 'making sense' rarely adds up to an actual trade, however.

And in this case, just about any team could use a player like Clowney on the roster. It just depends how much they're willing to pony up.
