It really isn't fair going up against Jacob deGrom. He's arguably the best pitcher in baseball and few people can argue with that. Need further proof? On Saturday against the Colorado Rockies, deGrom made some Major League Baseball history. How, you ask?

The superstar hurler did the unthinkable, and stuck out nine consecutive batters. That's not a typo folks. The man literally recorded nine strikeouts in a row.

This man really is in a league of his own. Whenever the New York Mets are able to get him some run support, you might as well give the team from Queens the victory. That's how dominant deGrom is whenever he heads to the mound.

Again, to record nine consecutive strikeouts is out of this world. Just go ahead and give him the Cy Young Award at this point. It's going to be tough for anyone to try and take him down if deGrom is pitching like this.
