Iowa Put Kicker on Scholarship After He Hit Game-Winning FG and Celebrated in Front of Nebraska
By Chris Pyo

For a college placekicker, this is about as big as it'll ever get.
No. 19 Iowa faced off against Nebraska in a Black Friday game that dictated whether or not the Cornhuskers would be playing in a bowl game this year. Well, Iowa walk-on kicker Keith Duncan made a 48-yard field goal to put the Hawkeyes ahead with one second remaining, ending the Huskers' season.
After the game, it was reported that Duncan was put on scholarship after making that big kick.
Talk about performing under pressure to set yourself up for the remainder of your college years!
Duncan's parents should be doubly ecstatic after the day their son had yesterday.
For the season, the former walk-on junior has successfully converted 29 of his 34 field goals attempts, and is considered to be a candidate for the Lou Groza Award, which is presented annually to college football's best kicker.
Not only did Duncan convert perhaps the single biggest field goal he's attempted to date, he had the wherewithal to look straight at the Nebraska bench, shake his finger at them Dikembe Mutombo-style, and blow them a kiss.
Nebraska coach Scott Frost won't be forgetting about this anytime soon. After all, this will be the third straight year in which the Cornhuskers miss out on a bowl game.
Meanwhile, Iowa will be waiting to see who they go bowlin' against, but at the very least, they know that their season isn't over.
