The Los Angeles Dodgers sit atop the NL West standings with a 63-33 record thanks in no small part to their pitching rotation. And a closer look at the statistical tables reveals a truly eye-popping number that no potential World Series challenger can afford to ignore.

Hyun-Jin Ryu could be the runaway NL Cy Young Award winner when it’s all said and done. After all, MLB fans voted him the midseason winner of the award. The May NL Pitcher of the Month is ranked first in the NL in ERA (1.78) and WHIP (0.93), and also falls in the top five in wins, win percentage and complete games.

In his 12th year in the league -- all of which he’s played with the Dodgers -- Clayton Kershaw has claimed himself an 8-2 record in 16 starts. The eight-time All-Star may have lost a bit of velocity at 31 years old, but has made himself out to be a reliable veteran who can take care of business. Don't tell me you'd be happy facing him in a playoff series.

Walker Buehler, the youngest of the trio at 24 years old, has held his own in 17 games. Buehler is 38 strikeouts short of his total from last year (151 in 24 games), with about 6.65 strikeouts per game this year.

LA’s pitching power trio had 80 walks in 64 starts last year, according to Eric Stephen. So while Dave Roberts' bullpen could still use some extra juice, the guys at the top of his rotation are a truly fearsome force. Come playoff time, they may be the single best asset in the game.
