Indians Throw Hilarious Subtle Shade at Mets in Lineup Tweet

The Cleveland Indians' time in New York hasn't been particularly pleasant. They've dropped four of their six games in the Big Apple, including their last two against the Mets.

So in their lineup tweet for the final game of the series, they took a jab at the Mets, who they dubbed "fringe playoff contenders."

The Indians pretty much just masked a diss of the Mets by inspiring their fans to change their perspective on the team's recent cold streak.

Even after winning two straight against Cleveland and four in a row altogether, the Mets are still one and a half games out of a playoff spot heading into Thursday's game. Their magical run has only taken them to within striking distance of a postseason berth, so they've still got some more work to do.

The Tribe's Twitter account essentially dismissed any World Series aspiration the Mets may have with one savage tweet.

While this may have been an instance of the Indians trying to rally their fans, they managed to rip on the Mets in the process. The Tribe better pull out a win here in their series finale against the Mets, otherwise this tweet is going to come back to bite them.
