It's no secret that Jim Harbaugh's had a bit of a rougher tenure as the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines than many expected. After all, expectations were sky high for him even before he ever coached his first game in the Big House.

Well, if Harbaugh's finding himself on the hot seat, then there's no reason as to why Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio still has a job.

Dantonio's been the head coach of the Spartans for the last 13 seasons, and in his last 43 games, he's coached them to a 23-20 record. That's barely middling over .500. That should be troublesome to the Michigan State board.

However, Dantonio's longevity as the Spartans' coach has made him semi-invincible against the thought of being fired.

Sure, he's had some success as their head coach, leading the team to three Big Ten championships. But the recent past suggests he's lost his touch.

The fact of the matter is that most of the Big Ten has caught up to the Spartans, and Dantonio's teams are closer to the caliber of Illinois rather than Michigan and Ohio State these days.

Michigan State needs to make a bold move and consider firing D'Antonio if they want to revamp their storied football program. As of right now, they've been toiling in mediocrity for too long, and it's time for a much-needed change.
