The New England Patriots grinded out a victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday in daunting weather conditions as heavy rains were falling from the Foxborough sky virtually all game long.

Well, it would appear that triumph came at a cost, as the Pats' weekly Wednesday injury report featured a multitude of players, the majority being on the defensive side of the ball, ruled out due to illness.

Among the bunch were Stephon Gilmore, Jamie Collins, Isaiah Wynn, Dont'a Hightower, and more.

We're not sure we've ever seen nine players listed on a single injury report with an illness before. It just goes to show the toll that playing in 35-degree and rainy conditions can have on some of the most unyielding athletes in the world.

Whether some of these players are actually in doubt for Sunday night's tilt versus the Houston Texans remains to be seen. It's possible Bill Belichick is just giving them an extra day or two to recover.

Hopefully the illness doesn't spread further across New England's locker room, and the team will certainly be hoping to have these guys rested up and healthy by the weekend.
