Hue Jackson's Comments on Days as Browns Coach Are Completely Delusional

The Cleveland Browns have been one of the worst-run franchises in sports history since their reintroduction into the NFL in 1999, especially during the Hue Jackson era. From 2016-18, Jackson went 3-36-1, which included an 0-16 campaign two seasons ago.

However, Jackson went on a radio station in North Carolina and backed his coaching when he was in Cleveland.

“I learned a lot,” Jackson told Nick Wilson and Josh Parcell on WFNZ 610 AM in Charlotte, North Carolina. “I think the two years of constant losing I learned how to overcome that and still get guys to follow me and trust in what I was trying to accomplish. You learn a lot about yourself that you gotta be able to stand in front of a group and keep them really going.

“I’ve said this before I think during those times [it was] probably some of the best coaching I did contrary to what people think because you’re always doing anything and everything you can to find a way to win. Whether it happens or not, that’s not up to me sometimes but I think I learned a lot being in that situation.”

There's no doubt that Jackson was not set up to succeed in Cleveland, but "good" coaches can keep their team from going winless during a season.

No, I don't expect Jackson to call himself a terrible coach, but it's rather delusional to say that was some of your best coaching. If you were actually doing a great job and results didn't matter, you'd still be there. Instead, they gave the keys to the car to an offensive coordinator who had never been a head coach at any level. Even former players have had no issue taking shots at Jackson.

That's what the Browns thought of your coaching ability.
