There's Belief the Texans Could Trade DeAndre Hopkins and That's Absolutely Mental

Alright, we know the coronavirus pandemic has a lot of people in a frenzy, but it appears the Houston Texans front office is taking it too far.

According to NFL insider Peter King, two NFL teams believe Texans superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will be a potential trade candidate this offseason. Does somebody mind telling us WHY?!

How is this even a rumor? The Texans were one epic meltdown away from heading to the AFC Championship Game, and Hopkins has been an All-Pro for three straight seasons now.

DeAndre Hopkins Contract

Not only that, but Hopkins is under contract for three more years and has cap hits of just $14 million and $15 million over that span. That's practically nothing for a player of his caliber. He signed a five-year, $81 million extension before the 2018 season.

Then again, this would be on par with the Texans' decision-making, which has largely been questionable, especially over the last couple years. They traded stars Jadeveon Clowney and Duane Brown due to contract disputes and then made a blockbuster deal with the Dolphins to acquire Laremy Tunsil and Kenny Stills.

And now, even remotely entertaining taking away Deshaun Watson's top target/arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL? This can't be real life.
