Houston Texans star pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney has been fighting for a lucrative long-term contract for years now, and it's finally come to a head after the Texans chose to franchise tag him this offseason. Clowney has voiced his displeasure with the situation, and he's yet to report to camp as he waits for a new deal.

Apparently, the Texans even tried to trade him, but Clowney was disinterested in the location, so he wouldn't approve the deal.

Now, you may be wondering whether this blue-checkmark-less man with no bio is a legitimate source. The skepticism is understandable, but it turns out this actually is a very reliable provider of information, as John Granato is a Houston radio host who also runs a podcast with NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein.

Houston ideally would like to see Clowney on the field in 2019, as he's an extremely valuable force. In 15 games last season, he put together 9 sacks and played a role in 4 turnovers, but his excellence goes beyond those numbers. ProFootballFocus ranked him as their fifth-best pass-rusher in the NFL.

If Clowney refuses to play, however, Houston may be forced to move the former No. 1 overall pick. This story adds a new element of difficulty, because if Clowney plans to nix every deal that he doesn't like, it could take a while to find the right trade partner.

Edge rusher is a premium position, and there are surely plenty of pass-rush needy teams that are willing to pay top dollar for Clowney. Now, we'll see if any of those teams actually interest the player.
