Hilarious and Sad Reminder of 2018 Bears Kicking Failures Spotted at Training Camp
By Michael Luciano

The curse of the double doink is still haunting the Chicago Bears.
After Cody Parkey's infamous miss in the playoffs ended their 2018 season, Chicago has been cycling through a parade of replacements this offseason, eventually settling on former AAF star Elliott Fry and ex-Raiders kicker Eddy Piñeiro. As Bears camp gets underway, an ominous reminder of the special teams mistakes of yesteryear looms large over this team.

If it's any consolation to Bears fans who are still traumatized by the sound of a football hitting a field goal post, at least one of their kickers is standing out in camp.
While Piñeiro is either hurt or still not in football shape, Fry has proven to be a solid kicker in the early stages of camp, making seven of his eight kicks Friday, including one from 60 yards out.
Matt Nagy says Elliott Fry and Eddy Pineiro will be alternating days, meaning that Pineiro will kick tomorrow and Fry will not, which gives both kickers the opportunity to "mentally prepare" individually.

Fry went 7-of-8 today with a 60-yarder.
While it seems cruel that a team with an offense as creative and a defense as dominant as Chicago's lost a home playoff game on a bad kick, that's the way the chips fall in the NFL. Just ask Billy Cundiff. Hopefully Fry or Piñeiro have more composure under pressure than Parkey.
