NBA trade season is fast approaching and the closer it gets, the more names and teams are being thrown around. The latest to come up: Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley and the Miami Heat.

For awhile now it has become apparent the the Grizzlies are looking to revamp their roster with younger talent to improve for years to come. And with the 2019 NBA Draft also quickly approaching, the valuable experience that the Grizzlies believed was essential for their team in Conley has seemed to lose its value.

By gaining the second pick in the draft lottery, the Grizzlies have the chance to draft Murray State guard Ja Morant.

On one hand, keeping Conley could provide invaluable veteran knowledge for the rookie. On the other hand Morant may gain that experience and ability by throwing him directly in the fire.

So for a team which wants to rebuild with a younger identity, the Miami Heat could be the perfect team to trade with as the Grizzlies will obviously try to obtain their 13th pick. In return, the Heat will get Conley who essentially could take the place of starting point guard Goran Dragic, who has a player option for the last year of his contract.

Seems like a win-win on both sides, but that is only if the Heat would be willing to give up that lottery pick. If they aren't, the Grizzlies will need to find a different outlet for their point guard.
