All hope for the Kansas City Chiefs overcoming their Super Bowl drought that had lasted 50 years seemed to be lost after Patrick Mahomes was intercepted by San Francisco 49ers cornerback Tarvarius Moore early in the fourth quarter.

The Chiefs entered the final frame trailing 20-10, and following the INT, most pundits and fans watching promptly presumed that San Fran would add to their lead while chewing clock with their rushing attack.

As we know, KC would muster an incredible comeback, and kicker Harrison Butker firmly believes that the 49ers' audacious team celebration in the end zone after the interception injected the Chiefs with the necessary electricity.

"Probably the interception that they had," Butker told NFL Total Access on Friday. "I know it's going around on social media. I don't know what part of the game it was, but they went up, probably by, I guess 10, when they scored the touchdown. And the whole team's celebrating in the end zone. It might've been after an interception...

"I just felt like the whole mood in the stadium was you know 'the 49ers won the game.' That probably helped to our advantage that they were celebrating so much and I think they probably let their guard down a little bit. When you have Patrick Mahomes and our offense, you know we're gonna score quick -- which we did...but that was kinda sticking in my mind."

Butker's analysis is certainly accurate, as the Chiefs would score touchdowns on their next three possessions on their way to a 31-20 triumph.

At the time, the celebration didn't look like much. Now, however, it's looks regrettably impulsive and, in the end, probably laid the groundwork for the 49ers' demise.
