The Dallas Cowboys have had their fair share of kicking inconsistencies over the last few seasons, but that shouldn't be much of an issue anymore. While Kai Forbath got the job done in place of Brett Maher last season, the Cowboys couldn't settle and decided to splurge in free agency this offseason. Dallas signed Greg Zuerlein to a three-year deal worth $7.5 million on Friday. If that name rings a bell to Cowboys fans, you might remember him from Dallas' Week 4 2017 loss to the Rams. He didn't score a touchdown, complete an unexpected trick play or anything like that, he just single-footedly (forgive the pun) won the game for Los Angeles.

Left hash, right hash. From within 40 yards or close to 50. You name it, he hit it. Greg the Leg popped off against Dallas for a career-high seven made field goals in a game. The Rams edged the Cowboys 35-30 in what was for Zuerlein maybe the single most impressive kicking feat in NFL history.

This performance may have come during his lone All-Pro, Pro Bowl season, but that doesn't mean Zuerlein's not the real deal. The 32-year-old has converted on 82% of his career FG attempts and is even more prolific when it comes to extra points.

Zuerlein doesn't have the track record of a guy like Justin Tucker, but his consistency is all that Dallas can ask for.
